New Appointment – Eng Stephen Makwembere
Johannesburg – Eng Stephen Makwembere has been in the engineering business for over two decades and has been appointed as Head: Engineering business at Maksure Risk Solutions. Steve will lead a team of brokers responsible for engineering, mining, power and energy as well as a new unit responsible for Power & Energy risk consulting and management.
“Steve has a proven track record for successfully advocating for renewable energy solutions that improve operational efficiency and increased bottom line across Africa as well as France and Asia,” said Mr. Knight Mawere, Chief Operations Officer. “His vast experience in engineering consulting will be invaluable to our clients, and to the growth and success of our team.”

Steve most recently worked at Sinet Africa as Director responsible for technical evaluations and risk consulting. He collaborated with IPPs and SOEs to find solutions that improve operational efficiency and manage both strategic, operational, compliance and financial risk.
Steve began his career as a trainee engineer in 1998 and rose through the ranks to a level where he was the overall project manager for multiple blue-chip clients. During the course of his career in main line engineering, he has managed power and energy projects in excess of USD10 billion.
He graduated from the University of Zimbabwe in 1997 with a cum laude Bsc. Electrical Engineering degree and has recently been conferred with a Masters Degree in Renewable Energy.
